A two-part collection of Sonnets dedicated to her and the canzone ("for life" and "for the death of the Laura Madonna"), traditionally called Il Canzoniere - central to the meaning of the work of Petrarch in Italian. In addition to portraying love for Laura in the Canzonier contains several poems of different content, mainly political and religious.
