Literacy Essentials is a comprehensive literacy program for grades K-3 that combines the sound linguistic theory of an Orton-based literacy program with an easy-to-use format and a beautiful style. Literacy Essentials employs a phonics-based spell-to-read method with instruction in both manuscript and cursive handwriting. Hillsdale College and Access Literacy partnered to bring this fresh rendition of Literacy Essentials into the classroom, complete with better organization of material, clearer instructions, and updated design.

The Companion Volume (previously called "Copy Masters" in the pilot edition) contains reference material for teachers on handwriting, phonogram and orthography instruction, reading, grammar, and writing. It contains materials to copy for classroom use and sample wall charts and student orthography notebook pages. 

This volume can be purchased at a discounted rate in the Second Grade Bundle.

Damages and Issues

Please inspect your order as soon as you receive it, and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you received the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
